Hanuman Chalisa
Origin
ब्रह्म (brahma) - ultimate reality; universal spirit.
Description
Brahma is one of the major gods of Hinduism, associated with the Vedic creator god Prajapati. Born from a golden egg or a lotus emerging from Vishnu's navel, Brahma created the earth and all things on it. Over time, he became a part of the Trimurti, representing the creator aspect alongside Vishnu (preserver) and Shiva (destroyer). Despite his significance in early Hinduism, Brahma lost prominence over the centuries. Today, there is no exclusive sect worshipping Brahma, but he is often depicted in temples dedicated to Shiva or Vishnu. Brahma is typically portrayed with four faces and arms, holding an alms bowl, a bow, prayer beads, and a book.
