Description
Narasimha is one of the 10 avatars of Vishnu. To defeat the demon Hiranyakashipu, who was granted a boon of invincibility, Vishnu emerged from a pillar in the form of a man-lion. The demon's son, Prahlada, a devoted follower of Vishnu, faced threats from his father. Narasimha's iconic depictions show him appearing from the pillar or ripping open the demon's belly, showcasing his leonine features.
