Hanuman Chalisa
Origin
बल (bala) - strength + राम (rama) - pleasing; Strength and Pleasing.
Description
In Hindu mythology, Balarama is the elder half-brother of Krishna, often considered one of the 10 avatars of Vishnu. Balarama may have originated as an agricultural deity, depicted with a plowshare and a pestle. In early representations, he is portrayed with fair skin, in contrast to Krishna's blue complexion. Balarama's stories emphasize his love of wine and immense strength. He is rarely worshipped independently.
